On 04/26/2024, at approximately 0446 hours, AST responded to an address in Sterling for a reported domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed that Janna Laporte, age 53 of Sterling, had assaulted a family member. She also lunged at a trooper and created a hazardous condition. She was also on conditions of release for a prior domestic assault and one of her conditions was to obey all laws. She was arrested for domestic violence fourth degree assault, violating conditions of release, disorderly conduct, and second-degree unlawful contact. She was remanded at the Wildwood pretrial center.

On 4/26/24 at approximately 1800 hours AST attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle traveling at over 100 mph on Vine Road. The motorcycle eluded Troopers before being located hiding in a nearby neighborhood. Devon Leach, age 23 of Wasilla, was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial for felony fail to stop at the direction of a peace officer and reckless driving.

On 04/26/24 at 1300 hours, AST responded to a residence in the Nancy Lake subdivision in Willow for the report of a white/black 2011 two-seat Polaris Razor that was stolen sometime during the winter months. AST is requesting anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 745-3333 or AST dispatch at 352-5401.

On 04/26/24 at 1700 hours, AST and a State Parks Ranger responded to the Montana Creek subdivision near Talkeetna for the report of a trespassing male, Mitchell Drover age 29 of Talkeetna, who had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. Upon contact, Drover resisted arrest and was eventually taken into custody after being tased and O/C sprayed. After being medically treated at a hospital, he was remanded into custody at the MSPT facility in Palmer.

On 04/26/24 at 2000 hours, AST responded to the Montana Creek subdivision near Talkeetna for the report of an attempted burglary and theft of an ATV. AST located 2 Conex containers on the property that had their locks cut and were rummaged through. The victim’s ATV that was in a Conex got stuck in the snow when the suspect(s) attempted to remove it from the property. Evidence on scene suggests the incident occurred in the previous 2 weeks. AST is requesting anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 745-3333 or AST dispatch at 352-5401.

On 04/26/24 at 1950 hours, AST performed a traffic stop on a black 2006 Saab for speeding near mile 73 of the Parks Highway in Willow. Investigation revealed the driver, Christy Schwan age 45 of Trapper Creek, was driving while her license was suspended. Schwan was issued a citation for the original offense of Driving While License Suspended with a mandatory court appearance at a later date.

On 04/26/24 at 0138 hrs, AST responded to an address in Wasilla for the report of a person who had recently driven under the influence of alcohol. Investigation revealed that, Wyatt Weaver, age 19 of Wasilla, had driven under the influence of alcohol. Wyatt was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where he was booked and subsequently released on his own recognizance.

On 04/25/2024, at approximately 2321 hours, AST received a report of a domestic disturbance near Schulz Drive and Ridgecrest Road in Wasilla. AST contacted Ivana Janell Johnson, age 24 of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Ivana recklessly caused physical injury to another family member. Ivana was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where she was remanded and held with no bail.

On 04/24/2024 Troopers received a report of an individual later identified as Timothy James attempting to enter a neighbor's residence and causing damage to the property. Timothy was ultimately arrested under private person's arrest and remanded to the custody of the Fairbanks Correctional Center. Timothy is charged with one count of Criminal Mischief in the 5th Degree, AS 11.46.486(a)(1), a Class B Misdemeanor crime; and one count of Criminal Trespassing in the 2nd Degree, AS 11.46.330(a)(1), a Class B Misdemeanor crime.
